Dr. Nair actually implanted my embryos…and those embryos are now 2 precocious 13 month olds! Shady Grove turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to my husband and I. We struggled with male factor infertility for years, though we didn’t know it until about a year before we had our twins. the doctors and medical staff made some of the worst days of my life bearable. After one chemical pregnancy, and three failed IUI’s, we had success on our first IVF round (thank you Dr. Nair!). I recommend them to anyone I come in contact with who mentions having issues…I make no secret that my twins were the result of science and not twins in our family. They will know what a gift they were, and I tell everyone who may need it that SGRSC is the best place to go. I was never just a patient… I cannot thank you all enough!

I hear you. I had a frozen embryo transfer last year at Shady Grove. I agree with you. They are a wonderful set of people who really care. I actually did my research online with all of the fertility clinics in the DMV area and there success rates, and Shady Grove came out on top. After being a patient there I see why.

If you are struggling to conceive then you should make an appointment asap. My husband and I waited two years before considering there could be a problem and I could have been snuggling my little one much sooner. I am sitting here writing this after just putting down my 3 month old infant son with colic. It is all part of being a new mom, and I love it!

My sister has a bicornate uterus and has had 3 successful full term pregnancies with out any fertility treatments…I on the other hand had to undergo IVF to have my Shady Grove baby!

  19. Shady Grove Fertility says:

Hi Kim – While only a small number of women have a bicornuate uterus (<1%), it is more common among our patient population and something that our physicians can help treat.
Important things to know: (1) Having a bicornuate uterus does not automatically make a woman infertile. (2) Our recommendations would be not to have surgery and work with the uterus as is. A few years ago, it wasn’t uncommon to repair the uterus, but with advances in fertility treatment, we now have other ways to help you conceive and carry a healthy baby to term.
So please call a patient liaison at 1-888-761-1967 to schedule a consult. At the consult you can discuss with your physician if fertility treatment, such as IVF, is the right course of treatment for you.

  22. Allison Cantrell says:

Do you see women who have hypogonadism have successful pregnancies?
    Allison

    • Shady Grove Fertility says:

Allison – We most certainly have had successful pregnancies for women with hypogonadism. For women that have this and have stopped menstruating, our physicians will come up with a plan to get them to restore their cycle and ovulation – and work on treatment from there.
If you have other questions or interested in coming in for a consult with a physician, please call 1-888-761-1967.
